AZA Lab
Project Summary
AZA Allsop is an artist, psychiatrist and neuroscientist working as an Assistant Professor at Yale University’s Department of Psychiatry. His lab conducts research at the intersection of neuroscience and social behavior to determine how music, mindfulness, and psychedelics affect the brain and treat mental health conditions. He wanted an identity and website to house his research and findings, and attract fellow academics, artists, and marginalized members of the neuroscience community.

While learning about AZA’s research and personality, it was clear that there was a unique juxtaposition between the rigor of his research and the spirit of using music and psychedelics to conduct that research. The logo mark shows these elements of the lab through organic curved lines that resemble an abstract brain and also allude to sound and brain waves.
